What we hold

Designed to know less,
so there is less to expose.

SuccessionKeeper records where your financial life is held, without the credentials that unlock it.

What the record holds

A structured map

Provider or institution name

Account type and optional reference details

Notes you choose to add

Documents you choose to upload

Account numbers and values are optional. A provider and type is enough to tell someone where to start.

What it never needs

The keys to your accounts

Bank or investment logins

Provider passwords and PINs

Crypto private keys or seed phrases

Permission to move money, or a live bank feed

SuccessionKeeper doesn’t hold the credentials needed to sign in to your providers or move your money.

How your information is protected

The journey of one
entry, step by step.

Follow one provider from the moment you add it to the moment anything is shared.

1

You add an entry

A provider, a note or a document, typed or uploaded by you.

2

It travels over TLS

Encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.

Stays in the UK
3

It is encrypted at rest

AES-256 encryption protects what is stored.

4

It is stored in UK infrastructure

Core customer records and uploaded documents are stored in Google Cloud infrastructure in the UK.

5

It is shared only as a summary

Only if you stop responding, as a structured summary and never as a login.

The five-week sequence and what nominees receive are explained on How it works.

What if

Built for the worst day,
not the average one.

Four questions a careful person asks before putting anything here.

If SuccessionKeeper were breached

In place

Records are encrypted with AES-256 at rest. No provider passwords, PINs or private keys are required.

What it means for you

The record is deliberately separate from the credentials needed to access your financial providers.

If a provider you use were attacked

In place

There is no live connection between SuccessionKeeper and your providers.

What it means for you

A provider breach cannot use an integration to access your SuccessionKeeper record.

If someone learned your password

In place

Two-factor authentication is available for added security.

What it means for you

A password alone does not complete a 2FA-protected sign-in.

If you are away or stop responding by mistake

In place

One missed prompt does not release anything. A five-week safeguard sequence runs before release.

What it means for you

Your primary nominee is asked to remind you to log in, and one login stops the process.

UK law requires a notifiable personal data breach to be reported to the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

Common questions

Security questions,
answered plainly.

Can SuccessionKeeper staff read my information?

Not in normal use. We do not browse customer records. Your records and documents are encrypted with AES-256 when stored and with TLS 1.3 when sent. One role, our head of system infrastructure, can access the systems that hold them, to run, back up and restore the service, and every access is logged. SuccessionKeeper also holds the means to decrypt your records, because the service has to prepare the summary your nominees receive if the release process runs its course. This is not a zero-knowledge design.

What if I lose access to my account?

Use the recovery process tied to your registered email or sign-in method. If you no longer control it, contact support@successionkeeper.com. Keep your registered email secure and current.

How does SuccessionKeeper make money?

SuccessionKeeper is funded by customer subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, including advertisers and data brokers.

What happens to my data if I close my account?

Download your data, or delete it, before you close. Anything left is kept encrypted for 90 days, then deleted.
