About Us

We're on a mission to help families protect and transfer their financial legacy securely.

WHY THIS EXISTS

I reviewed the pension account every quarter. It was still declared abandoned and handed to the State.

Ten years after I moved abroad, my pension provider decided my account was inactive and handed the money over to a US state, as US law required. Nothing was stolen. Getting it back took three months.

The account

The money was never lost. The information was.

I paid into a 401(k) while working in the United States. When I moved to the UK I told the provider, updated my address, and carried on checking the balance every few months out of habit.

Ten years later the balance was zero.

There had been no fraud and no breach. The provider had judged the account inactive, based partly on letters sent to an address I had left ten years earlier, and passed the money to the state. Under US unclaimed property law, that is what they are required to do.

Recovering it took about three months, notarised documents and several rounds of identity checks across two countries.

It came back because I knew the account existed, could name the institution holding it, and was alive to prove who I was. Remove any one of those three and it does not come back.

Afterwards I asked my wife which company had held it. She knew there was a pension. She could not name the provider.

That is not a shortcoming on her part. It is how most households work, and it is the problem this company was formed to address.

Our Purpose

SuccessionKeeper was created to solve a quiet but growing problem: when financial information is scattered across emails, files, and institutions, it becomes difficult - and sometimes impossible - for loved ones to step in when it matters most.

Modern life has made finances more complex, yet access to essential information still relies on memory, paperwork, or assumptions. SuccessionKeeper provides a structured, secure way to bring clarity and continuity to your financial life - at your own pace, without pressure or intrusion.

Our Mission

To provide individuals with a secure, unified platform to organise their financial lives and ensure their loved ones can access essential information at the critical moment.

Why SuccessionKeeper Exists

SuccessionKeeper is not about moving money, offering advice, or replacing financial institutions. Instead, it acts as a secure vault - helping individuals clearly document what they have, where it's held, and who should know.

By combining strong encryption, thoughtful design, and gentle prompts to stay updated, SuccessionKeeper ensures financial information remains accurate, accessible, and ready when it's needed most.

Built With Responsibility

We believe that building long-term products comes with a responsibility to think beyond the platform itself.

We believe in giving back. That's why 5% of our profits go to charities working to improve the lives of children.

The hidden cost of being unprepared

When someone dies, no one searches for their accounts. Their family does.

Banks won't trace your next of kin. Pension providers won't either. The work of finding what you held (and proving who is entitled to it) falls to the people closest to you, at the worst possible time.

This isn't only a death problem. A stroke, an accident, a hospital stay or a long illness can put any of us in the same position, years before we expect it.
